Voting rights

For European Union nationals

 

A waiver to the principle of nationality has been introduced through the Maastricht Treaty, ratified in September 1992. EU nationals now have the right to vote in European and municipal elections on condition that they have enrolled on the complementary electoral rolls.

 

 

Enrolment on the electoral rolls of the place of abode must be completed by the last working day in the month of December.
