MINES ParisTech, ISIGE

Presentation

The ISIGE (Institut Supérieur d'Ingénierie et de Gestion de l'Environnement - Higher Institute for Environmental Engineering and Management) is a training centre shared by MINES ParisTech, Ponts ParisTech (ENPC), and AgroParisTech (ENGREF). The ISIGE was created in 1992.  Located on the campus in Fontainebleau, the ISIGE has since 1992 developed training activities in the area of the environment and sustainable development in France and abroad.

Among the training courses, there is the Advanced Master's in Environmental Management and Engineering and strong partnerships in the context of international training programmes.
Since 2000, the ISIGE has been expanding pedagogical consideration of new educational technology (NET). A multidisciplinary staff is designing distance learning courses mainly in the areas of the environment and sustainable development.

In parallel to this training activity, the ISIGE is involved in research projects and partnerships. The research activities mainly concern environmental themes, especially polluted soils and taking the environment into account in business strategies, and sustainable development -local Agendas 21-.
A strong partnership exists between the ISIGE and the European Institute of Sustainable Development (IEDD), created in 2001, of which the ISIGE is a founding member.
