Prerequisite (specific skills for this thesis):

Candidates should have a deep understanding of the principles of physical metallurgy. This includes an understanding of the structure of metallic materials, as well as the relationship between microstructure and properties. They should also have a good understanding of phase transformation mechanisms and the thermodynamics of alloys. Additionally, experience with various materials characterization techniques would be a plus. This may include the use of scanning electron microscopy techniques to observe precipitates of different phases, spectroscopy to determine the chemical composition, X-ray diffraction to study the crystal structure, and the measurement of mechanical properties such as hardness.

Applicants should supply the following :
• a detailed resume
• a copy of the identity card or passport
• a covering letter explaining the applicant's motivation for the position
• detailed exam results
• two references : the name and contact details of at least two people who could be contacted
