AbstractIf the meshing of images with complex morphology and/or high number of phases or labels is still a real challenge, especially in the world of numerical mechanics, the remeshing from these structures is also a current topic that remains largely open. The obstacles are well known: superposition of elements, non-respect of the shape or the number of labels of the original image. The current techniques are very delicate to implement, which makes the complete automation of the meshing/remeshing procedure unrealistic in some cases.

The mathematical morphology tools allow to circumvent these obstacles to guide the meshing and remeshing with frames defined by a geodesic metric established directly by the image and in particular on its gradient. This thesis aims at proposing remeshing tools that guarantee the precision and accuracy of the original structure by proposing a reasonable number of elements compared to the current computational capacity in order to perform, for example, a finite element (FE) calculation.
ProfileEngineer and / or Master of Science - Good level of general and scientific culture. Good level of knowledge of French (B2 level in french is required) and English. Coherent professional project.

Prerequisite (specific skills for this thesis):

Master and/or engineering degree in Applied Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science.
