AbstractThe objective of the thesis is to study cooling solutions and cooling systems, integrated in housing renovation projects and actions, to guarantee summer comfort while minimising greenhouse gas emissions. The aim is to select the best passive and active solutions and to establish sizing rules according to the characteristics of the housing. The study, focused on the adaptation of existing housing to climate change, must take into account the use of the housing by the occupants and the constraints of the local environment in several areas, notably noise and pollution in urban areas. The challenge is to provide the construction industry (building owners, public authorities) with the means to prevent the widespread use of inefficient and environmentally damaging air conditioning.
