AbstractThis study aims to characterize and understand the evolution of y-y'/superalloys coating system under in-service loading conditions. The substrate material is a Ni base single crystal superalloy of 3rd generation. In depth investigation of microstructure will be achieved combining SEM, EBSD, XRD and TEM analyses.To gain understanding in mechanisms driving the evolution of microstructure, thermal and mechanical cyclic testing will be achieved. The final goal lies in the definition of microstructure evolution in relation with the applied loading parameters, so as to draw a map of optimal condition of use of this new coated/superalloy system solution.
ProfileEngineer and / or Master of Science - Good level of general and scientific culture. Good level of knowledge of French (B2 level in french is required) and English. (B2 level in english is required) Good analytical, synthesis, innovation and communication skills. Qualities of adaptability and creativity. Teaching skills. Motivation for research activity. Coherent professional project.

Prerequisite (specific skills for this thesis): Basic metallurgy is an essential prerequisite for this thesis, practical experience with microstructure observations and mechanical testing will be an additional asset. Practice with image analysis tools will be helpful to the project.
